Job description
Assante Vancouver Centre branch is a premier wealth management firm with offices in downtown Vancouver. With over 30 years in the industry, our branch offers our clients a personalized and comprehensive planning experience.
One of our highly successful and professional practice teams are hiring. They are looking to bring on a Financial Planning Administrator (MFDA-CIRO) to provide support for their Financial Planners in servicing their clients, supporting their workload, and contributing to the overall success of the team. This is a tremendous opportunity for an individual who wants to take their proven administrative experience and top-level client servicing to new levels working with a team who continuously achieves excellence in their field. In addition, this large group has created a working environment that cultures a spirit of comradery, encouragement and cheerfulness. This is a full-time position with a competitive compensation and benefits package.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate client investment transactions, including processing trades, account opening, compliance documents, and follow-up;
  • Assist with coordinating insurance and estate administration and follow-up;
  • Assist team in their performance of their duties and provide customer service in all related manners;
  • Maintain client files (paper and electronic) and assist in preparation for client meetings and post-meeting follow-up;
  • Manage incoming and outgoing client correspondence, both written and verbal.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Mutual Fund experience preferred;
  • Working knowledge of computer software and programs used in the financial industry, including Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive) and SalesForce CRM;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Work experience in the financial services industry preferred;
  • Organizational and administrative skills required to perform activities with varying degrees of priority;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with handling figures a must;
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment;
  • Initiative and growth-oriented;
  • A positive, upbeat attitude. 


Complexities and Challenges:

  • Ensuring accuracy in all client service activities;
  • Responding to client inquiries;
  • Responding to multiple information requests from advisors and clients;
  • Responding to changing priorities and work environment.

Assante Vancouver Centre branch is a premier wealth management firm with offices in downtown Vancouver. With over 20 years in operation and 7 practices encompassing 65 people, our AVC branch puts an equally, strong emphasis on delivering top level client service, continued learning with peer collaboration and
enjoying our time together with an easy social culture.

We are seeking a driven and dedicated Branch Financial Planner (CIRO-MFDA) to join our Corporate Team. The role will be to work directly with our clients to assess their financial situations, develop comprehensive financial plans, and provide ongoing support to help them achieve their objectives. The successful candidate would seek to grow the client base through their own referrals and internally.

This role offers a great opportunity for an entrepreneurial minded individual who thrives working independently but values the benefits of collaboration, mentorship, and development. Compensation will be annual salary plus commission on new sales. If insurance licensed, the role could assist our other planning teams with insurance sales for additional remuneration.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Engage clients on a regular basis (meetings, phone calls, emails etc.)
  • Handling of all client correspondence
  • Financial plans, portfolio and insurance reviews
  • Presentation of planning strategies
  • Ensure completion of all required materials and tasks before, during and after client meetings
  • Liaise with client’s professional advisors including lawyers, accountants, and bankers
  • Referral generation, through professional, personal and client opportunities
  • Diligent compliance maintenance, directed by Head Office and Regulators
  • Attend client, networking, or industry events
  • Maintain certifications and licensing


Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of related work experience in financial services, ideally 3 years in a client
    servicing role
  • Established client book will be considered for amalgamation into practice, please share in your
    application if this is applicable
  • Working knowledge of investment and insurance products
  • Preference to someone with work experience in wealth management
  • Ability to multitask, maintain a high level of accuracy and demonstrate attention to detail
  • Understanding of back-office procedures and compliance in a MFDA environment
  • Technical Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Salesforce
  • Professional communication skills both written and verbal 


Education/training:

  • Financial Planning designation (CFP, R.F.P., PFP or QAFP) successfully completed
  • Mutual Fund license either active or ability to be licensed
  • BC Life Insurance license or desire to obtain
