Well-Advised: Summer 2024 Edition

When you think of wealth planning, one of the first things that comes to mind may be your investments, and we do cover investing in this issue of Well-Advised.

However, this newsletter also discusses what might be called the opposite of wealth accumulation—giving your money away.

The article on Page 1 examines the timing of an inheritance. Should you consider leaving an inheritance to a beneficiary earlier or later than the traditional time? On Page 2, we offer a guide to choosing a method of making a charitable donation.

In the area of investments, we include a couple of often overlooked topics. The Page 3 article explores investment biases and looks at how following our instincts can be at odds with successful investing. A Page 4 article explains the implications when a couple’s investment personalities are similar or different.

Finally, also on Page 4, we describe several strategies for individuals at risk of having their Old Age Security (OAS) pension clawed back.

We hope you and your family are doing well and that you enjoy the summer. Please contact us whenever we can help you with your wealth management program.
